Privacy Policy
Slidect is designed to collect as little as possible. There are no user accounts, and no name, email address or phone number is asked for.
Data collected
- Slide images rendered in your browser from your PDF or image files (the PDF itself is never uploaded)
- Randomly generated session codes and a hashed presenter PIN
- Technical session state (current slide, timer, laser position)
- Presenter notes typed on the phone
- Q&A questions (with an optional first name) and emoji reactions sent by the audience
Cookies
Slidect sets no cookies. Your browser's local storage keeps your language choice, the presenter token of the session you control (24 hours) and, for 6 hours, the code and PIN of the last session you created so a refresh does not lock you out. Analytics run on a self-hosted, cookieless Umami instance: no personal data, no cross-site tracking, nothing shared with third parties. Fonts are served by Slidect itself; no request is made to Google or to any advertising network.
Data hosting
The application and its PostgreSQL database run on Railway. Slide images are stored on Cloudinary for the lifetime of the session.
Data retention
A session and everything attached to it (slide images, questions, reactions, notes) is deleted automatically by an hourly job, one to two hours after the presenter ends it, or 48 hours after its last activity. Slide images on Cloudinary are deleted by the same job.
Your rights
You can request access to or deletion of your data by writing to contact@slidect.com, quoting the session code.
